I’ve always loved working with children and knew early on that I wanted my counseling career to focus on work with kids and families. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Truman State University in 2000 and my Masters in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2002, I soon realized my education was far from over. After encountering some heart-wrenching situations with my young child clients, I knew I needed to continue to build on my skills and pursued credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist. Over time I earned my Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor credential and also enjoy providing supervision to colleagues new to the world of play therapy.

Throughout my career I’ve been blessed to work with kids of all ages, in school, office and telehealth settings. Being a witness to a child’s feelings and experiences through play therapy is truly a privilege. Most recently I’ve completed a certification in FirstPlay® Infant Play Therapy, and I’m excited to now work with families and children as young as newborns. As a parent myself, I believe that supporting the child and the parents/guardians is essential to the therapy process.

Outside of work, my husband and I are busy raising two wonderful boys and a spunky puppy named Hank. We love spending time with our church community, and I’ve enjoyed working with kids through our church as well. I am thankful God gives me the opportunity to do this amazing job.
