Counseling
Sometimes we need to sit with someone who can help us notice the good, clarify what isn’t working, and help us move toward the “more” we were made for. Whether it’s one-on-one, together as a couple, or all together as a family, we can help.
At CrossRoads, you will find authentic, compassionate, creative, skilled counselors facilitating transformation with a fiercely loving pursuit of your heart. When hurting people come here, they find well trained counselors who invite them into a joint journey, a path that we ourselves have travelled.
Wounded healers offer both the experience and the hope of freedom. This sets us apart from many professionals in the field of psychotherapy.
CrossRoads is both a sanctuary and a battlefield. As God mercifully shows us that the way we have constructed our lives doesn’t work, we offer a private haven to deconstruct the past and find restoration as we experience our Creator, who truly sees us and deeply loves us.
The result of this work is exponential impact. When one life if transformed, it changes a marriage, a family environment, a community – it changes by a few critical degrees the trajectory of that person’s legacy in our world.
We offer several ways to engage in the counseling process.
-
Individual Counseling, where you can meet with a counselor one-on-one, using a treatment approach that best meets your particular need.
Your counselor will gather background information about you, the problem you want to address, shaping events in your life, and both the strengths and struggles that you may encounter as you move toward change. Together, you’ll arrive a shared plan for how you want to approach the process of change including things like specific objectives, how much or how little you want faith to be integrated into the process, and how frequently you’ll need to meet in order to gain momentum.
Counselors aren’t giving advice, they’re helping you gain insight, see yourself and your circumstances more clearly, and discern what path you’re willing to take to live life more fully.
If you’re ready to explore individual counseling, you can reach out to our New Client Coordinator by using this form or calling 314-469-5522. If you’re interested in reading more about our counselors, you’ll find them here.

Couples Counseling, differs in some important ways from individual counseling. When you engage in couples counseling, the relationship is the focus of the work. A skilled couples counselor will go beyond the content of arguments and the manifestations of relational brokenness. These things are the visible signs of relational brokenness. Understanding the pattern you and your partner are locked into and helping you learn new patterns of relating to one another, as well as to yourselves, will often be the focus of your time in counseling.
CrossRoads has several counselors who are trained in pre-marital counseling using a highly effective, well-researched curriculum called Prepare/Enrich. If you’re interested in premarital counseling, or you are a church who would like to partner with CrossRoads to come alongside couples in your church to access this service, please contact our New Client Coordinator at newclients@stl-ccc.org.
