I grew up in a diverse community in California and have been drawn to people and the stories they live for as long as I can remember. I love working with people and consider it a deep privilege to be allowed to listen to and participate in the unfolding of someone else’s story. I have worked with refugees and immigrants, people living with HIV/AIDS, and people living internationally who serve in challenging places.
I graduated with an MSW from the Brown School of Social Work at WashU and was licensed as an LCSW in 2010 before moving overseas with my family. I have found that people in every culture and place want the same things- connection, understanding, dignity, respect, and care. I believe that people thrive and flourish in healthy relationships with others, grounded in healthy communities. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including attachment theory, emotionally-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
When not working, I love being at home with my husband of 20 years, our four delightful and intense children, two Guinea pigs, an antique grand piano, and anyone who would like to stay for a simple dinner.
