About Gina
I’m so glad you’re exploring how Collaborative Care and CrossRoads can enhance your healing journey. My name is Gina Birkemeier. I am a licensed professional counselor and author with a passion for helping you understand the importance of taking a holistic approach to your wellness journey. My passion for whole-person care stems from my deeply held belief that we are created as integrated beings—mind, body, and spirit—and true, lasting healing comes when we care for our whole selves. This belief has guided every step of my professional journey and also my life.
Before becoming a mental health counselor, I worked in personal training and nutrition, helping people care for their physical health. Prior to that, I worked in pastoral care, which helped me recognize the power of spiritual support during life’s challenges. After I became a therapist, I began studying epigenetics—first in relation to physical health and then to trauma and generational patterns— and what I saw was the profound ways our stories, wounds, and triumphs are woven into the fabric of who we are and how we heal.
Looking back, I can see how God orchestrated each piece of this journey, leading me to a role where I can integrate all of these experiences. My dream to create something like Collaborative Care began more than 15 years ago. Now, I have the incredible privilege of working with CrossRoads to help others receive the kind of holistic, coordinated care I’ve envisioned for so long.
As the Director of Collaborative Care, I’m here to help you connect with the right resources and adjunct practitioners to enhance your healing journey. Whether it’s therapy, microcurrent neurofeedback, nutrition, spiritual guidance, or other forms of care, I’ll work with you to ensure that every part of your healing process is considered and supported. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you step into this next chapter of healing and growth.
